About Me
Natalie Skowlund is an award-winning bilingual audio and digital journalist focused on in-depth multimedia storytelling across Latin America. Her journalistic background includes nearly five years of experience in multimedia reporting, digital editing, bilingual translation, and social media and newsletter editing.
She has held previous roles as a digital producer and editor at KUNC in Colorado, and as an education reporter at the Grants Pass Daily Courier in rural Oregon. She holds a Master of Mass Communication from the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, where she focused on health disparities reporting as a Southwest Health Reporting Fellow and also completed an international reporting project on immigration through southern Mexico.
Natalie is a Fulbright scholar who has worked and studied in Colombia, Taiwan, Bolivia, Spain and Mexico. She speaks Spanish and Mandarin. Her work has been recognized by the Indigenous Journalists Association, Association of Health Care Journalists, Society of Professional Journalists, Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association, Colorado Broadcasters Association, and Broadcast Education Association.
